Activities

What We Do

We are an independent organisation which aims to represent residents interests on the estate to SLH, SLDC and CCC.

We hope to organise events on the estate to bring people together and foster a greater sense of community

We want to use grant funding and volunteering to make a positive impact to under utilised recreational areas

The Area We cover

Our association is mainly interested in the Hallgarth Estate of Kendal, specifically the residents of houses which are accessed from these three roads, although other people from outside the estate are welcome to join as well.

  • Garth Brow
  • Sparrowmire Lane
  • Fir Tree Rise

What we hope to achieve

In The Future

We have only just formed as an association and have big plans for what we hope to achieve in representing residents. Some of the issues residents have identified already are:

  • Parking
  • Dog Poo Bins
  • Dropped Kerbs
  • Maintenance of Recreational Areas
  • Street Signs
  • Abandoned Vehicles
  • United Utilities Representation
  • Waterway Maintenance
  • Footpath Maintenance

Community Events

We would like to hold events for the community based around the Community Centre. Some proposed ideas for events we could hold are

  • Litter Picks
  • Tree Planting
  • Open Air Cinema
  • Art Day
  • School Clothes Swap
  • Jubilee Street Party
  • Community Garden
  • Foraging Walks

How to Make this Happen

This association exists by members working together. To make some of the things mentioned above come to life we need you to volunteer and take charge on your estate. We have the structure in place to manage grants and projects, we just need keen people with big ideas!

If you have an idea or think you can help out just get in touch using the form below and we will put you together with others on the estate who can help make it a reality.

Alternatively if you want to keep up to date with what we’ve been doing, and have your voice heard during any residents consultations then join our mailing list and Facebook Group
